8 Tech Innovations Changing the Way We Travel

Just imagine: some 10-15 years ago we couldn’t even think that travel would be a few clicks away from us. Now it’s a common thing to find a room in a hotel or buy a plane ticket online. Also, you can easily book a car to hire Auckland Airport for your road trip to New Zealand. Modern technology allows you to choose the best car hire deal for your special needs.

Indeed, you won’t surprise anyone with a quick search for tours and air tickets, low prices, and personalized offers, but progress doesn’t standstill. Modern tech innovations continue to improve the travel industry, so let’s look at 8 technologies that are changing our trips today…

    Augmented Reality

AR Augmented Reality Entwicklung Wien VARS

Do you remember how Pokemon Mania took over the world in 2016? With the release of the Pokemon Go app in different parts of the planet, people took to the streets and looked for Pokemon. This is one of the most striking examples of using AR technology. Of course, the travel industry hasn’t bypassed this technology, and AR is already actively used in travel applications.

When it comes to excursions, AR can compete with a guide – just point your camera at an attraction and receive information about it. The owner of the application benefits too, as it collects information about which exhibits/sights are the most popular. reality

Advanced travel agencies use AR to show tours in detail. At the same time, navigation apps like AR City can help you get directions anywhere that Apple Maps can access. Airlines also didn’t ignore the trend. So, for example, using a smartphone camera and the KLM AR app, you can check the parameters of your hand luggage.

    Virtual Reality

Agree, it would be nice to appreciate the view from the window of your hotel room before check-in. Moreover, not just look at the photo but see everything as in reality. Fortunately, VR makes it possible!

The Marriot hotel chain uses VR Postcards technology, which allows using VR glasses and an application to walk around the hotel and evaluate it before booking a room. Thus, guests can be sure of the quality of their accommodation. What’s more, the VR Postcards app also lets you travel the world directly from your hotel room.

    Artificial Intelligence

Artificial intelligence continues to expand the world, and it has also reached the travel industry. The main purpose of using AI in the travel segment is to analyze terabytes of data and personalize travel offers.

For example, by using artificial intelligence, The Dorchester Hotel in London regularly checks reviews and, based on this, changes the breakfast menu to meet customer requests.

    Travel Applications

Install 10-15 travel apps on your phone and you’re ready to travel. It may sound dubious, but it’s true! Now, with the help of applications, you can organize all the processes – from buying air tickets and booking a hire car to finding the required location on the map and choosing a currency exchanger with an optimal rate.

Advanced travelers have been checking in for a flight using the app for a long time, but that’s not all modern apps can. All top airlines have long ago acquired mobile applications. For example, an app from KLM allows you to book tickets, check in for a flight, and also know about delays and flight changes.

    Chatbots

According to research, more than half of millennials prefer to communicate through instant messengers and social networks. In just a couple of years, generation Y will account for more than half of the world’s workforce. This means the number of travelers who prefer to communicate via messengers will proportionally increase.

In connection with such statistics, airlines, car hire services, and other travel segments are actively introducing chatbots to communicate with customers. Of course, a telephone support service will still be available, but it is rapidly losing popularity.

    Face recognition technology

A couple of years ago, Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam began using facial recognition devices in test mode. It works as follows: after the check-in, the passenger must scan his passport, boarding pass, and face in a special kiosk. Then he goes through passport control and security control. Upon boarding the plane, the passenger must once again scan his face. If the photo matches what is already in the database, the passenger is allowed on board. Thus, when boarding, you don’t need to show your passport, which means you can save valuable time.

    User-Generated Content

    color edits

The desire to share experiences and create content is the main driving force behind social media. Brands realized this and started motivating users to share content that featured their product. Both sides win: the brand gets loyalty and unique content, while the user gets recognition. And in general, people have much more confidence in the photos and posts of other people than the story of the brand itself.

So the river cruise service Uniworld uses exclusively user-generated content to promote its services – potential customers can see boats and cruises through the eyes of other users.

    Autonomous cars

    driverless cars

A dozen years ago, autonomous cars seemed to be something unreal, but in 2021 this technology is already much closer to appearing in mass production. In addition to Tesla, which popularized the autonomous control feature, other automakers also picked up the self-driving trend.

Mercedes S-Class, BMW 5 Series, Volvo XC60, and Audi A8 are all already equipped with partial autopilot functions. How does this affect the travel industry? You won’t need to use the search for the correct route on your road trip – the car itself will get you where you need it.

  • What is SSL Certificate Errors and How Can They Be Fixed

What is SSL Certificate Errors and How Can They Be Fixed

There are millions of websites today online with an SSL certificate, with the number still counting. SSL certificate is the certificate that authenticates the identity of a website and allows an encrypted connection. Secure Sockets Layers (SSL) is the security technology that creates an encrypted link between a web browser and a web server. SSL certificate helps to encrypt sensitive information of visitors like payment information and passwords.

You can know a secured site through the icon that looks like a padlock in the address bar and the HTTPS included in the URL. Many people try to avoid any website that is not encrypted like an e-commerce website. You don’t have to bother yourself about the installation and renewal of SSL certificate as most web hosting companies provide free SSL for websites in their plan. For self-hosted hosting you can get one from an SSL certificate provider in case SSL is not included in your plan.

In a situation whereby an SSL certificate is installed on your website or you have a plan that already includes an SSL certificate. Then you try to open a page on your website using Google chrome but instead for the page to load you get a message that says “ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR”. What this error message means, the cause of error and how the error can be fixed to keep your website running are what will be discussed in this post.

What Is SSL Certificate Error And How to FIx?

When a web browser fails to verify the SSL certificate installed on a website is what results in an SSL certificate error. So instead of you being connected an error message is displayed to warn you the site you are visiting may be insecure or cannot be trusted. The type of browser you use and the type of SSL certificate error that occurs are the two factors that determine the type of message that will be displayed.

    Types of SSL Certificate Errors

The common SSL certificate error that can occur on your website are:

    SSL Protocol Error

The reason for this error can include the following:

A problem in the series of certifications that made up the SSL encryption of your website. An SSL certificate that the browser cannot examine due to how it’s formatted.

Interference of security software or firewall with SSL protection.

SSL with unconfirmed, damaged, or without a digital signature.

A certificate that is not installed properly on the server or using an outdated encryption algorithm.

    How to Fix:

Try any of the following to see the one that works.

Disable your security tools(antivirus or windows firewall) for some time. Reduce your internet security and privacy level. Clear SSL state. Ensure the system time, date and region are correct. Disable QUIC Protocol and some extensions on your browser.

    Name Mismatch Error

This type of error is suggesting that the domain name in the SSL is not corresponding with the URL typed into the browser. For instance, if the SSL is registered for www.mywebsite.com and by mistake, you type in https://mywebsite.com into the browser then an SSL certificate name error will occur.

    How to fix:

Every website has its IP address but if your web hosting is not dedicated hosting then you are sharing an IP address with many websites. So if any of those websites do not install an SSL certificate then the browser will be having an issue with which site to visit and cause a display of error. Upgrade to a dedicated IP address to resolve the issue.

When the error remains there might be a need for you to get a wildcard SSL certificate. With this certificate, you can secure your root name along with numerous subdomain names.

    SSL Certificate Canceled Error

This error shows that the SSL certificate of the website has been canceled by Certificate Authority(CA). The reason for this can be simply because the key was compromised, the wrong key was issued, the certificate was bought with false credentials or from unreliable CA(intentionally or by mistake). When anything of such is discovered it result in an SSL certificate error.

    How to Fix:

Try to find out why it was canceled and replace the canceled certificate with a new one from a trusted CA.

    Untrusted SSL Certificate Error

What this error means is that the certificate is authenticated by CA that is not trusted by the browser. It could be that the CA is not listed on the browser list of trusted certificate providers or the certificate was self-signed(issued by the server).

    How to Fix:

There may be a need for you to install one intermediate certificate on your web server if your Certificate Authority(CA) is not trusted. This is just to help browsers establish the fact that the website‘s certificate was issued by a valid root CA. If the error still occurs after this then generate a new Certificate Signing Request(CRS).

There is every possibility that the certificate could have been installed incorrectly. In a situation like this, a new Certificate Signing Request(CRS) has to be generated from your server and then reissue from your certificate provider. The steps to generating the CRS will differ based on your server.

    Expired Certificate Error

This is the most common SSL certificate error since every certificate has a validity period. So the error occurs when the SSL of the website expires. The validity period of the certificate is about one year. Is easy to forget to update the certificate before it expires. Another thing that can cause this error is incorrect browser machine time.

    How to fix:

For an expired SSL certificate, you have to renew it with immediate effect. The web hosting company or CA you are using will determine your renewal process but the steps don’t change. You just have to generate a certificate signing request, activate it, and then install it.

    Mixed Content Error

This means that a secured page(HTTPS) has content that is being loaded from a page that is not secured(HTTP). There could be just a single insecure file on the page such as iframe, a snippet of JAVAScript, image, or flash animation and the error message will be displayed instead of the page loading.

    How to Fix:

If one of your web pages is displaying a mixed content error, you can use the WhyNoPadLock.com website to pinpoint the element that is not secured. Just copy and paste your URL into the website and once the element is detected you can edit the page and change the URLs to HTTPS.

Online tools like SSL Server Test, SSL Checker, can be used to pinpoint the problem that is causing SSL certificate error on your website. The tool can help confirm that the SSL certificate is not expired and is installed, with no mistake with the domain name on the certificate and other things. You can use the tool by copying and pasting your website address into the search bar.

If you still have any issues with your SSL after trying all listed above. Then contact your hosting to assist you in troubleshooting the problem.

  • Raymond Halliwell Talks About Benefits of PPC Campaigns

Raymond Halliwell Talks About Benefits of PPC Campaigns

Digital Marketing is a broad term used for producing content, creating ads, and optimizing search engines. It involves using the internet and social media pages to create visibility and engage your audience. PPC campaigns are not that easy to use and getting precious search engine spaces is a bit difficult without any proper strategy. Keep reading as Raymond Halliwell, a renowned digital marketer discuss why you need PPC campaigns for business growth.

    What is PPC?

PPC is called a Pay-Per-Click ad. It is the use of strategic keywords. The keywords may be the firm’s name, product’s name, and owner’s name. Keywords may also be any trending topic.

An effective PPC generates enough money and visibility for the business. It allows you to have a hold of your business. It brings more clients to your business. I have helped a lot of brands get value for their money. I have utilized my Raymond Halliwell blog to create a guide on how to use PPC effectively and explain the benefits of PPC campaigns

Here is How You Get Benefits of PPC Campaigns

Give you control: Pay-per-click ads are the first to be seen when people use search engines. If you didn’t pay for your ranking, your content won’t be seen on the first page of the search engines. It is okay if you have no rival competing with you. On the other hand, if you have rivals, it is easier for them to attract your prospective customers. They can even use your keywords and rank higher than your content. Hence, their visibility is greater than yours.

Using a pay-per-click ad, you have total control of your ranking. You get to add your PPC adverts to attract clients without competition from rivals.

Autonomy of Writing Your Messages: PPC gives you the right to draft and send the correct messages to your visitors. There are natural documentations whereby Google can take out any related data. The data is then displayed to clients who use Google. When your intended post is excluded, you won’t be listed.

Writing your messages through POC ads gives you the power to show any post you think is relevant.

The right message listed on search engines brings more visitors to your digital site. Test your messages with PPC as testers to know which will rank more. Refine your methods according to your targeted audience.

Helps You Convert Visitors To Paying Customers:

A normal ranking takes visitors to your blog but most of them might not be paying visitors. You need to go further to turn your visitors into paying customers.

“PPC has greatly helped me in optimizing my on-page blog to generate money. PPC campaigns are to draw in clients inside the sales industry. These types of people are swift in making purchases,” Raymond Halliwell says.

    Advertise New Goods and Services:

As your business grows, the goods and services you deliver grow along with it. Use PPC campaigns to entice clients and introduce these commodities to them.

Use customized keywords so that your clients can find you with those words. These clients will be more eager to purchase your new products.

Customized PPC ads give you an edge over your rivals. Your website gets visibility faster than using normal ranking methods. In the Digital Marketing, Unpaid ranking takes many months before showing your post. Your website gets to receive new offers from new customers with PPC ads.

    Conclusion

PPC campaigns are faster and more efficient ways of boosting your sales. They are more reliable and effective in enticing your visitors to pay for your products.

Divide your marketing methods into smaller and meaningful parts. It makes it simpler to work on them one by one.

Never underestimate the benefits that come from using PPC.

    6. Go easy on hashtags!

We all know that hashtags have become the new fad of Facebook and everyone is overusing them these days! But don’t come across as an “over-hashtagged” because that will definitely create a negative impression on people.

And not just hashtags, other types of symbols like emojis and abbreviations are also overused these days which is not good because it comes across as unprofessional.

So keep your post simple and don’t use too many hashtags or other symbols because using few symbols is always better than using many of them.

    7. Ask for likes!

If you are looking for an effective way to get more likes on your posts then the best thing to do would be to ask for it. So next time whenever you post anything on Facebook, end your post with a sentence that includes “Like”.

For example: If you want to make a post about your new business then you can end it with the sentence “Like if you are interested in this business” or something similar.

People might be hesitant to like your posts but they will definitely click on that button once they see that others have also liked it! So try asking for likes to get people’s attention and more likes on your posts.
